Why Playfactory?

We are a high-quality program promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children, based on modern scientific understanding of preschool-age child development.

Inclusive Education

Playfactory welcomes children ages 18 months through 6 years (Transitional Kindergarten). Our students are placed in age-specific groups to ensure tailored learning. While our campus is located within a church complex, our program is non-sectarian and welcomes children of all religions and creeds.

Peaceful Campus

We are nestled in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood in Temple City, at the corner of Garibaldi Avenue and Golden West. Our entrance is located off the private parking lot on Golden West, providing a calm environment away from heavy traffic.

Parent-Teacher Communication

We use the Lillio app to send children's daily events, photos, and notes in real time. Parents can also send direct messages to the teacher and the director securely through Lillio.

Learning By Doing

At Playfactory Preschool, our Emergent Curriculum is based around the motto Play is the Work of Children...and we mean that!

Our education approach follows standard early childhood education practices. Preschool children learn by hearing, seeing, doing, saying, and playing. Young children instinctively play because that is how they learn at that age. Our teachers guide the children through a wide variety of hands-on, fun, educational, age-appropriate activities such as lesson-oriented art projects, classroom cooking projects, music, song and stories. Students are grouped into four classes, and children will be promoted only after consulting with the parents and teachers so that all are comfortable that the child is ready for transition.

Outdoor Classrooms

We are proud and honored to be an official recognized demonstration site for The Outdoor Classroom Project.

We have 3 age-appropriate Outdoor Classrooms providing a wide variety of areas to explore in all aspects of development. These spaces feature dedicated zones that align with our developmental goals and objectives (literacy, gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, social-emotional, language, science and technology, arts, mathematics, social studies, & English language acquisition), encouraging hands-on discovery. Our outdoor classrooms will be continuously updated to meet the needs of the children and program.

Healthy Habits

One of the important parts of our curriculum is the importance of healthy eating and exercise.

Healthy Eating

Your tuition includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and evening snack freshly prepared daily. We are a Peanut & Tree nut free school (no peanuts or tree nuts in foods/milks) and do not serve any candies and surgary drinks.

Exercise and Fitness

We practice yoga daily. Yoga is a form of exercise which is about 5000 years old, combining physical exercises, mental meditation and breathing techniques. The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) encourages yoga as a means for children to learn to quiet the mind, use energy efficiently and take care of themselves.

Health Screenings

We offer free annual vision, hearing, and dental screenings by trained professionals.

Community Engagement

We envision a world in which children understand the value of community service and helping others from a young age.

Guest Speakers

We regularly host presenters from our community. Examples include an exciting annual visit from the Temple City Fire Department with a fire safety talk, and monthly visits from the Temple City Librarian who reads, sings, tells flannelboard stories.

Field Trips

We have field trips during the school year. Some expeditions include visits to the nearby Temple City Fire Department, Temple City Library, the park, and the City Hall.

Good SamariTots

We host monthly meetings for the Temple City Chapter of Good SamariTots. Good SamariTots provides a space where families can learn about and engage in kids-friendly community service projects together.
