Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you serve?

We offer a continuous learning environment for children from 18 months through 6 years old (Transitional Kindergarten/TK). This allows siblings to stay together and provides a stable community for children during their most formative years.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

We pride ourselves on a lower than usual Teacher to child ratios based on each age level. This allows our educators to provide the individual attention, safety, and emotional guidance that young children need to thrive.

When can I enroll my child?

We have a year-round rolling enrollment. Contact us to see if there is space available and to schedule an in-person tour.

What are the school hours?

The school opens Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. We ask that children arrive to

school by 9:30 AM to help the children to stay on a consistent routine (very important to children!) and to avoid disrupting activity/interactions.With pre-approval from the Directors, the student may also come by 10:30am or after 2:30pm (when naptime is over).

What is the day-to-day like?

See <insert daily schedule PDF here>.

How do parents communicate with school staff and see school reports?

We use the Lillio app to send children's daily events in real time. Parents can also send direct messages to the teacher and/or director securely through Lillio.

How do parents communicate with each other?

Currently we do not facilitate inter-parental communications (like having a chat group), although parents often connect when picking up or dropping off the children and through specific school events. Please feel free to get to know each other!

Does the school have summer and winter breaks?

The school does not have month-long summer breaks. See <insert annual caleandar PDF here> for a list of day offs.

Do I need to pack a lunch for my child?

No. We provide freshly cooked, nutritious meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon/evening snacks. See a sample menu here: <insert sample menu here>

My child is allergic to certain types of food. How does the school handle that?

First and foremost, we are a Peanut & Tree Nut-Free campus to ensure the safety of all our students. For other types of allergies, please let the school administrator know and we will note it in the student's record and our staff will accommodate.

Does my child need to be potty trained before enrolling?

Not necessarily. We understand that every child develops at their own pace. Our teachers are experienced in providing potty training support and will work closely with you to ensure a consistent routine between home and school.

Where is Playfactory located?

We are nestled in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood in Temple City, at the corner of Garibaldi Avenue and Golden West. Our entrance is located off the private parking lot on Golden West, providing a calm environment away from heavy traffic.

Is Playfactory a Christian school?

Although Playfactory is located in the San Gabriel Presbytery church complex, the school runs a non-sectarian program and welcomes children of all religions and creeds.

Are there any additional health services?

Yes. To support the "whole child," we coordinate free annual health screenings (vision, hearing, and dental) performed by trained professionals to ensure your child’s physical development is on track.
